THE OLD SHIP OF ZION “D”

I WAS [D] STANDING ON THE [G] BANKS OF THE [D] RIVER
LOOKING OUT OVER LIFE’S TROUBLED [A7] SEA
WHEN I [D] SAW THAT OLD [G] SHIP WAS [D] SAILING
IT WAS THE OLD SHIP OF [A7] ZION I [D] SEE
IT’S [D] HULL WAS [G] BENT AND [D] BATTERED
FROM THE STORMS OF LIFE I COULD [A7] SEE
WAVES WERE [D] ROUGH BUT THE [G] OLD SHIP WAS [D] STEADY
IS THAT THE OLD SHIP OF [A7] ZION I [D] SEE?

AT THE [D] STERN OF THE [G] SHIP STOOD THE [D] CAPTAIN
I COULD HEAR AS HE CALLED OUT MY [A7] NAME
GET ON [D] BOARD , IT’S THE [G] OLD SHIP OF [D] ZION
IT WILL NEVER PASS [A7] THIS WAY [D] AGAIN
AS I [D] STEP ON [G] BOARD, I’LL BE [D] LEAVING
ALL MY SORROWS AND TRIALS [A7] BEHIND
I’LL BE [D] SAFE WITH [G] JESUS THE [D] CAPTAIN
SAILING OUT ON THAT [A7] OLD SHIP OF [D] ZION
